From the edge of the pool or with a laptop on his balcony, in swimming trunks of course, he lets the other &#8216;Tacstonians&#8217; enjoy his stay on Cura\u00e7ao live. <\/p>\n<p>As a <a href=\"https:\/\/tacstone.nl\/vacature\/junior-rpa-developer\/\">Junior RPA Developer<\/a>, Jack had the opportunity to do an <a href=\"https:\/\/tacstone.nl\/rpa\/wat-is-rpa\/\">RPA<\/a> assignment for The Guardian Group on sun-drenched Cura\u00e7ao. Naturally, Jack grabbed this opportunity with both hands. <\/p>\n<h3><strong>Hard work and time to relax<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Besides hard work and a lot of learning, there is also time for relaxation. High time to ask Jack some questions about where he does his assignment, what his duties are and what life is like in Corona time (i.e. quarantine!) on Cura\u00e7ao.[\/vc_column_text][image_with_animation image_url=&#8221;1137&#8243; animation=&#8221;Fade In&#8221; hover_animation=&#8221;none&#8221; alignment=&#8221;&#8221; border_radius=&#8221;none&#8221; box_shadow=&#8221;none&#8221; image_loading=&#8221;default&#8221; max_width=&#8221;custom&#8221; max_width_custom=&#8221;400&#8243;][vc_column_text css=&#8221;.vc_custom_1648804478173{margin-top: 30px !important;}&#8221;]\n<h3><strong>Introducing<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Jack has been working as an <a href=\"https:\/\/tacstone.nl\/rpa\/\">RPA Developer<\/a> at Tacstone since the beginning of 2019. In addition to his work, he is studying Software Engineering at the Hogeschool van Amsterdam. Jack has lived, studied and worked in Amsterdam all his life, so when he got the chance to go to the other side of the world for a few months with Tacstone, the choice was quickly made. At the end of February, just before the Corona outbreak, he flew to the Caribbean for a great adventure, not knowing at the time that he had chosen a very nice place to go into quarantine&#8230;   <\/p>\n<h3><strong>Assignment at Guardian Group<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>In Cura\u00e7ao, Jack is doing an assignment for the Guardian Group, a large international insurer. This company has been providing insurance in the Caribbean for 175 years, including life insurance, health insurance, non-life insurance and mortgages. Guardian Group strives to always put the customer first in this process. Important are trust, integrity, quality and customer satisfaction. By applying software robots, Guardian wants to be able to serve their customers even faster, more error-free and easier.    <\/p>\n<p>Jack works as part of a larger RPA team to automate processes in business operations and optimally set up the RPA infrastructure. In particular, his role is to analyze and improve older processes that have already been automated. One such process is also the \u00b4claims\u00b4 process, where claims are handled after an accident. Jack learns a lot from his assignment, both about the business processes at a large insurance company and about how to approach a large project in such an organization. The robots he builds make extensive use of APIs or queries, and the focus is primarily on a stable and maintainable end result. The lessons he learns here will serve Jack well on his next assignments.[\/vc_column_text][image_with_animation image_url=&#8221;1145&#8243; animation=&#8221;Fade In&#8221; hover_animation=&#8221;none&#8221; alignment=&#8221;&#8221; border_radius=&#8221;none&#8221; box_shadow=&#8221;none&#8221; image_loading=&#8221;default&#8221; max_width=&#8221;custom&#8221; max_width_custom=&#8221;300&#8243;][vc_column_text css=&#8221;.vc_custom_1635862682009{margin-top: 30px !important;}&#8221;]\n<h3><strong>Life on <\/strong>Cura\u00e7ao<\/h3>\n<p>Besides a challenging and educational assignment, we are naturally interested in island life. Cura\u00e7ao also has a Covid-19 quarantine. The rules are stricter than in the Netherlands: a maximum of twice a week out for shopping and a curfew. Fortunately, Jack was still able to get a good start at Guardian Group in the office for the first month before the measure to work from home took effect. Besides, one of his RPA colleagues is also his roommate, which makes working from home a bit more pleasant and cozy. &#8220;Home&#8221; in Cura\u00e7ao is quite a luxury.
