Democratizing RPA in education
Tacstone provides RPA guest lectures and training for students as well as teachers
In late 2019, Tacstone was the proud winner of an UiPath Global Award for democratizing RPA thinking. That “democratizing” of RPA means that we spend much of our time actively explaining exactly what RPA is: how it works, what are its applications, and how is it changing our work. In 2020 and 2021, we continued this in full force. On the one hand, because it is still very much needed. We notice that a lot of people still have little insight into the possibilities of this new technology. On the other hand, also because it’s just really fun to do. Obviously with and for our new customers, but also in education.

Guest lectures within college institutions and universities
In 2020, our RPA Developers and RPA Consultants again had the opportunity to provide numerous guest lectures, workshops and webinars for various educational institutions, mainly in college and university education. For example, a guest lecture for Finance, Tax & Legal students at the Hogeschool van Arnhem en Nijmegen. And recently by Ebert Knol, alumnus of the Rotterdam School of Management (RSM), a guest lecture at this institution for students of the master’s program Strategic Entrepreneurship. We also have another number of RPA internships in 2021 to train students to become certified UiPath Developers.

Cooperation Foundation for Practical Learning for MBO ICT teachers
We have recently started working with RPA in MBO education through a collaboration with Stichting Praktijk Leren (SPL). Through this collaboration we aim to offer ICT teachers in MBO education an RPA introduction training, so that they can then teach their students about this subject. And that is much needed, because also for future graduates and school leavers RPA, hyperautomation, artificial intelligence and machine learning are developments that will be very relevant for their work and in their lives.
Developing software robots within your own educational institution
An interesting “by-product” of our investments in education is the opportunity that arises to apply RPA within the educational institutions themselves. It is especially nice when (former) students of an educational institution, now employed by Tacstone as RPA Developer, can be used to develop robot scripts that automate the work processes in such an institution. These processes, for example handling student registrations or requesting exam results, are often very familiar to these young RPA Developers. For example, projects are now underway at the ROC of Amsterdam, the Hogeschool van Amsterdam and the University of Amsterdam, among others.
